Shake Shack

Shake Shack is a burger joint that has just opened down on the Country Club Plaza. It is a very casual restaurant where you go up to the order station and then find a seat while waiting for your buzzer to go off.

My family and I went there for my little sisters birthday going into that we were going to be very pleased with the restaurant due to the hype of many people. We personally weren’t sure what the hype of it was.

I wasn’t a fan of the “signature” sauce on the burger but besides that I thought the food was pretty mediocre. I had Shack Burger with fries and a cookies and cream shake, I loved the shake and the fries. The “ShackSauce” really just made me not like the burger.

Overall the worst part of the place was the lack of seating in a busy area.

Trezo Mare

I went to Trezo Mare in the Northland with my family from here and from New York to celebrate a new engagement in the family. I have always loved going to this restaurant because you can always find something for everyone.

I ordered the Smoked Tomato Fettuccine and loved it! It had great flavor and was a tasty dish, I am very happy that I chose to get that dish.

For dessert I got the Flourless Chocolate Cake, it has a
Chocolate mousse, ganache, raspberry compote, whipped cream, chocolate bark. It is absolutely delicious!

My sister got the same dessert and for her entree she ordered the Chicken Picatta and I had a couple bites and loved it as well.

This restaurant would definitely be recommended to anyone looking for a high end restaurant in the Northland.

Dominic’s Casual Italian

Dominic’s Casual Italian is a family ran restaurant in Kansas City, MO and in Gladstone, MO. This is fast paced restaurant with very friendly employee’s.

At Dominic’s I got the Fettuccine Alfredo with a bread stick on the side. I was very pleased with my order, that I have been there many times and that is always my go-to order. I would recommend this option to anyone that isn’t sure what to order from there.

I also got the tiramisu and absolutely LOVED it!

I choice to have the Chicken Spedini with a side of spaghetti and it was fantastic. I would recommend this choice to anyone that attends this restaurant. My family and friends have always enjoyed coming to this restaurant with it being such a family-friendly restaurant.

GoJo Japaense Steak House

This is my first time going GoJo’s on Broadway street in Kansas City, Mo. Japanese Steak House’s are some of my favorite restaurants and I wasn’t too please with the atmosphere of this restaurant.

I ate the teriyaki chicken and was pleased with it. They food overall was good, but the atmosphere of the restaurant I felt was not very welcoming and our chef wasn’t very friendly like I have been to in other Japanese Steak Houses.

I will say this restaurant would be good for a group dinner of 7-8 people to fill a whole table for just your party.

Nick and Jakes

I have been to Nick and Jakes in Parkville, Mo many times. This restaurant is definitely a family friendly restaurant that I would recommend for good comfort food.

My favorite thing to get there is the Tomato Soup on Tuesday’s as the “Soup of the Day” and the Chicken Quesadilla’s on the Starter part of the menu.

I tend to go to Nick and Jake’s with my friends and family after 9 p.m. because their starters are half off. I think that is a good deal after sporting events or just a late dinner.

Westport Flea Market

Westport Flea Market is located in Westport and is also known as “The Flea”. It has been around for 30+ years and is known for their burgers.

My friends got a cheeseburger with curly fries, and it was an overall good experience, it is not quite super kid friendly since it is a bar, but still has a good atmosphere.

Town Topic

Town Topic is an old sandwich shop that has been around for 75 years. When they first opened they were selling hamburgers for 5 cents a piece, and are still making them the same way as they were 75 years ago.

I went with my friends for our school dance dinner and we have all always loved this place. I ordered a double cheese burger with ketchup, mustard and pickle only. Of course, I had to get a hand-dipped chocolate shake!

The only down fall about town topic I could think of is the lack of seating, so we did have to stand to eat.

Q39

As many would know Q39 is a very well known BBQ restaurant in Kansas City, and have had many different opinions on it. My family and I thought the table side service was great and our server could answer any question we had with great enthusiasm.

We ordered the Apple Brined Pull Pork Sandwich and the Judges plate. We thought the food was great and overall good BBQ, it was an overall welcoming and busy restaurant.

It was my first time going there and I think I could definitely go again with friends and family. Overall I don’t have anything bad to say about it.
